MLA Khriehu Liezietsu today inaugurated the Pfuchatsumia Indoor Stadium at Tholeibozou, P. Khel, Kohima village.
This indoor stadium was funded by the Department of Youth Resource and Sports under state plan 2016-17. The land donors were Viravolie Rame and Christ King Church Kohima village.
Speaking on the occasion, Liezietsu expressed gratitude to the department and the engineer for making this project a reality.
He also thanked the land donors and people of P. Khel for assisting the project. Liezietsu was hopeful that the stadium will produce a good number of sportspersons from the khel and bring laurel to the community. He also called upon the youth to make use of the provided facility and excel in the field of sports. Liezietsu expressed confidence that the stadium will bring better understanding and unity among the people.
Er. Nimo Kath, Executive Engineer PWD (H), Youth Resources & Sports in a technical report said that the project cost Rs.150 lakhs. The work was awarded to M/S. Nieziengulie Rame. The work commenced on April 17, 2017.
The scope of the works included the construction of two badminton courts and a composite retaining wall. He said that the project was conceived with a view to providing a standard indoor stadium that can train and nurture youngsters and also host any important tournaments.
The project was completed under the leadership of Er. Zale Neikha, Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports; MLA Khriehu Liezietsu, active support of P Khel Youth Organisation, Secretary and Director, Youth Resources and Sports and the contractor.
The function was followed by indoor games meet of the PYO.
