Born on 19 th October 1976 at Yikhum Village under Wokha District of Nagaland, Shri. R.Nzanbemo Lotha joined as a Member, Nagaland State Human Rights Commission in July 2023. He is an Advocate by profession. He did his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Patkai Christian Collage under Nagaland University and Bachelor of Law from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University. As a Law student, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit as Volunteer in Lok Adalat and a Certificate in Voluntary Prison Service. He enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in the year 2001 as Advocate and practices at various Courts in Delhi the following years. He shifted his based in Dimapur, Nagaland in the year 2004 and affiliated with the Nagaland Bar Association. He appears in District Courts within and outside the State and also at Gauhati High Court.
A student leader, a passionate social activist having been associated with many NGOs and Civil Societies Organisations as a representative and Advisor.
He served as Legal Consultant for Border Affairs Department, Government of Nagaland and was appointed as a Member to the Judicial Inquiry Commission (ULB). He was later appointed as Public Relation Officer in the Office of the Deputy Chief Minister, Govt. of Nagaland.
He has a formidable repudiation for upholding the rule of law in his professional and public life and now joined the NSHRC with a zealous enthusiasm of protection and promotion of Human rights.
