Samvrudi Trust is working for the upliftment of economically backward people particularly with tribal women from various parts of the country. Samvrudi is also working with visually challenged community across India. Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India and Samvrudi Trust working closely with Department of Sericulture, Govt. of Nagaland by implementing the first of its kind project exclusively designed for the hilly region of Nagaland focussing primarily on the sustainable livelihood for tribal women of Nagaland.

Sericulture industry depends solely on the development of host plant cultivation being the feeds of Silkworm. In view of the favourable climatic condition prevailing  in the state, all the varieties of host plant are all abundantly available and for which  all the four types of silkworm rearing is being practiced. The department has formulated Farmers Development Project to be implemented in the State for a Period of 3(three) years (2017-18 to 2019-20) funded under Negotiated Loan from NABARD with a project cost of Rs559.00 lakh.

Under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) 2017-18, the Department is implementing Development of Eri Seed Sector in Mokokchung and Dimapur district for production of eri disease free layings (dfls) with a production target of 1 lakh dfls per annum per grainage.

Intensive Bivoltine Sericulture Development Project (IBSDP) for mulberry in Nagaland, a project funded by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, under North Eastern Textiles Promotion Schemes (NER-TPS) with a project period of 3 years (2015-16 to 2017-18) is under implementation at Medziphema block and Dhansiripar block in Dimapur district. The project is 100% women oriented programme covering an area of 500 acres under mulberry plantation involving 1000 women farmers (@ of 0.5 acres per farmer during the project period. The project has a special emphasis on organization of women groups & social mobilization for gender sensitization, women empowerment, creating awareness for literacy, health care, sanitation & hygiene etc.

Integrated Eri Silk Development Project (IESDP) is a Centrally sponsored Scheme under North Eastern Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS) implementing by the State Sericulture Department under Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and Central Silk Board, Govt. of India. The project covers exclusively on Eri sector in the district of Kohima during 2016-17 to 2018-19. The project proposed to cover 1000 nos. of women beneficiaries through silkworm seed production, rearing, spinning, weaving, etc.
