Shri Vikho-o Yhoshu did his Schooling from G.H.S. Kohima 1968; Pre-University Science from Cotton College, Gauhati 1969; B.Tech(First Class with Hons) from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad 1974; Certificate in Industrial Engineering and management (CISM) from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, 1976; Mine Manager’s First Class certificate of Competency (FCC) in all India Competitive Examination 1976. Married to Smti. Jalesou Yhoshu with four sons and six daughters.

Started his career in Government Services as Asst. manager in Coal India Ltd. (Govt. of India U/T), March 1975 to April 1980; OSD (Geology & Mining)( Deputy/Joint Secretary in Nagaland Civil Secretariat, May 1980 to March 1996; OSD (G&M)Equivalent to Addl. Secretary & Ex. Officio M.D, NSMDC in Nagaland Civil Secretariat, April 1996 to August 2002; OSD (G&M) Equivalent to Secretary Govt. of Nagaland & Ex. Officio MD, NSMDC in Nagaland Civil Secretariat Sept. 2002 to August 2007.

He was involved in various Student’s activities;  Joint Secretary, Angami Student’s Union 1973-74; Games & Sports Secretary in Indian School of Mines, 1973-74; General Secretary, all Naga Engineering Student’s Association, 1972-73; President, All Naga Engineering Student’s Association 1973-74.

He was also involved in various religious and social activities; Chairman, Kigwema Baptist church, Church Building Committee, 2000-2007.Convenor, village Support Group, Kigwema Union Kohima 1995-2007; Vice President, Nagaland handball Association 2000-2006.

Elected to the 11^th Nagaland Legislative Assembly for the first time from 14-Southern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency on NPF ticket 2008 and appointed as Adviser (IT & TE) and Chairman (DAN) from march 2008-May 2009; Adviser (IT & C) from June 2009 –feb 2013. Re-elected to the 12^th Assembly from the same Assembly constituency as NPF Candidate and held the post of Parliamentary Secretary (Housing, Treasuries & Accounts) from Feb 2013-Apr 2014; Parliamentary Secretary (Veterinary & AH, T&A, LMCP) from May 2014-dec 2014, Parliamentary Secretary (Mechanical) & chairman, NSMDC from Feb 2017- Dec 2017; Advisor (Mechanical & NSMDC) from Dec 2017- Jan 2018; elected again from the same constituency  as NDPP Candidate and appointed as Speaker of the 13^th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on 13^th March 2018.
